Jocelyn Dubois
Jocelyn Dubois, RN, MSW, is Director of Social Services. She is a Registered Nurse (RN). Jocelyn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from Rhode Island College. She has a Masters degree in Social Work and is licensed as an RN and as an Independent Clinical Social Worker. She is a certified Dementia Practitioner. She has worked for Visiting Nurses of RI and the Northern RI Community Alliance, both as a social worker and Psychotherapist. Jocelyn has done psychiatric crisis assessments in Landmark Medical Center’s ER and, for 35 years as a critical care nurse there. She has been with Ballou Home since 1997.
Listening to and really hearing what another person is saying is so important in social work. Only in this way can you truly understand and empathize with what another person is sharing with you.
